Dr. Alex Schmidt
A native of Michigan, Dr. Schmidt received his medical degree from Michigan State University before completing his residency training at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee where he served as Chief Resident of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. While at Vanderbilt, Dr. Schmidt participated in numerous national and international conferences and earned a Distinction in Leadership Training upon graduation. Following residency, Dr. Schmidt continued post-graduate training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center in New York City where he served as a Chief Fellow while completing an ACGME accredited fellowship in Pain Management.
Dr. Schmidt is experienced in treating a wide range of acute and chronic pain disorders including neck and low back pain, joint related, complex regional pain syndrome, and post-laminectomy pain syndrome. Dr. Schmidt has a particular interest in the treatment of chronic neck and low back pain, offering a wide variety of treatments including interventional spine injections and spinal cord stimulation therapy. In addition to pain management, Dr. Schmidt is also a board-certified physiatrist, experienced sports medicine, post-concussive syndromes, traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries, stroke rehabilitation, and orthopedic rehabilitation.
